Jane (Nishimura) Furukawa, 89, of Hilo died May 1, 2022 at Pohai Malama Hospice of Hilo. Born in Molokai, she was a sales consultant for HMSA’s Hilo office, and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers or koden (monetary offerings).
She is survived by spouse, Richard; son, Neil (Elizabeth) Furukawa of Woodside, California; daughter, Jan (Grant) Takasaki of Honolulu; brother Tom Nishimura of Honolulu; sister, Alice (James) Yoshiyama of Papaikou; and six grandchildren.

William Hashimoto
William “Bill” “Billy” Yoshio Hashimoto, 78, of Holualoa, died Feb. 27, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 28, 1943, in Hilo, he was an environmental health specialist for the state of Hawaii.

He is survived by wife, Milicent Hashimoto of Holualoa; son, Todd (Rebecca) Hashimoto of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Heather (Jay) Peters of Honolulu; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Gordon (Lorraine) Hashimoto of Hilo; sister, Patricia Hashimoto of Kona; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shirleyann Oguma
Shirleyann Leina’ala (Lewandoski) Oguma, 75, of Mountain View, died Sept. 6, 2021 at her residence She was retired from J&J Hardware in Hilo and was a member of the VFW Post 3830 in Pahoa.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 15 at By Tadashi located in Shipman Industrial, Kea’au, for services. A private scattering service will take place May 18 on Oahu.
She is survived by sons, Edward (Denise) Oguma and Leslie (Leasha) Oguma; daughters, Cheryl Oguma and Penney Oguma; brother Herman (Grace) Moore; sisters, Haunani (Tom) Pedro and Carol (Ted) Pa’ao’ao; 17 mo’opuna; and 23 mo’opunanui,

Delbert Cannon Jr.
Delbert Eugene Cannon Jr., 85, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 27, 2021 at his residence. Born Oct. 20, 1936, in Parson, Kansas, he was a professional surfboard maker and owner of DC Del Cannon Surfboards and a charter boat captain.

He is survived by daughters, Shawn (Kyle) Cannon Medeiros of Hookena and Jennifer (Robin) Villanueva of San Diego; son, Andrew (Jill) Cannon of Haleiwa, Oahu; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Clifford White
Clifford Wayne White, 83, of Waimea, died May 2, 2022 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Oct. 13, 1938, in Irvington, California, he was a manager for steel mill and wood processing companies, a quilter, fisherman and member of the National Guard.
