Kevin Aoki
Kevin Kenso Aoki, 58, of Hilo, died April 16, 2022 at his residence. Born June 5, 1964, in Kohala, he was principal broker and proprietor of Property Professionals Hawaii, LLC in Hilo, a founding member and vice president of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (East Hawaii Chapter), and member of Hawaii Island Realtors, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Hongwanji Preschool building campaign, Hui Okinawa, Hilo Yacht Club, Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, South Pohakulani Kumiai and the Last Sunday Golf Club.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. May 16 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin; memorial service at 4 p.m. Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. May 17 Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by daughters, Lauren Aoki of Colorado and Karlynn Aoki of Hilo; mother, Annie Aoki of Hilo; brothers, Clyde (Donna) Aoki and Keith (Estelle) Aoki, all of Hilo; sister, Cynthia (Leroy Lareau III) Aoki-Lareau of Honolulu; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, grandnephew and grandniece.

Thomas Malendres Jr.
Thomas “Tommy” Malendres Jr., 83, of Hilo, died April 3 at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired cane truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., a retired heavy equipment operator with Jas W. Glover and was also a member of Connect Point Church and a U.S. Navy and Army National Guard veteran.
Friends may call for visitation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 at Connect Point Church in Hilo. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Committal services noon May 13 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire; no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Irene Malendres of Hilo; sons, Timothy (Shana) Malendres and Jonathan (Michelle) Malendres of Las Vegas, Thomas (Sheila) Malendres, III of Texas and Mark Malendres of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Cheryl Malendres and Tessie (Bryson) Kawaihae of Hilo; sisters, Victoria (Suetaka) Fukunaga and Louisa Malendres of Kona, Dominga Jardine of Hilo and Helen Kauahi of Arizona; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nazir Bendeck
Nazir “Willy” Bendeck, 69, of Hilo, died April 16, 2022 at Pohai Malama. Born in 1952, he was a salesman at Cardinal Mailing, worked for the Yellow Pages, belonged to the Gideon International Bible Society, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Honolulu and the Hilo Church Of God.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. May 14 at Hilo Church Of God for a memorial service.
He is survived by wife, Lizabeth Bendeck of Hilo; brothers, Richard Bendeck and Charles Bendeck, both of Honolulu; and several cousins.

Linda Fountain
Linda May Leilani Fountain, 80, of Hilo and formerly of Honolulu, died March 4, 2022 at her residence. Born on Kauai in 1941, she managed the 1223 Wilder Avenue property for almost 40 years, was employed at Moiliili Community Center, Rancho Produce, and retired from Hawaiian Beauty Products.
No services.
She is survived by daughters, Feli Richrdson Shoaf, Annette Johansen, and Clara Alvarez; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cale Yamauchi
Cale Kaanoe Yamauchi, 48, of Hilo, died March 21, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1974, in Honolulu, he was a power mower operator for the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation, fisherman and rancher.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. May 15 at Wailoa River State Park pavilion #2 (large pavilion) for a celebration of life service. Casual attire.
He is survived by parents, Richard and Naomi Okinaga of Hilo; siblings, Cory Yamauchi and Brandee (Jay) Agliam, all of Hilo, Jennifer (Kawena) Canady of Las Vegas, and Richard (Shawnae Watson) Okinaga Jr. of Peoria, Arizona; grandfather, Paul Yamauchi of Honolulu; grandmother, Kiyoko Okinaga of Hilo; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Robert Ouye
Robert Yoshimi Ouye, 91, of Hilo, died April 22, 2022 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 10, 1931, in Umauma (Hakalau), he retired from the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. as a mechanic and was a member of the Honomu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Piihonua Kumiai.
Private service to be held. No flowers or koden (monetary offerings).
He is survived by wife, Ruth Ouye of Hilo; daughters, Sharon (Douglas) Wuerl of Washington, and Cathy (Tom Saccomanno) Kim, Jamie Aina and Bobbi Wilson, all of Hilo; sisters, Hatsuyo Yamashita of Honolulu and Kiyoko Doi of Hilo; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

John Pini
John Cesare Pini, 74, of Pepeekeo, died April 16, 2022 at Pohai Malama. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a retired electrician for Amtrak, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Services will be held in Maryland.
He is survived by spouse, Nadine Pini of Pepeekeo; son, John (Valerie) Pini Jr. of Baltimore; daughter, Heidi (John) Gant of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; sister, JoAnn Reilly of New Hampshire; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Albert Capuyan Ano, 63, of Kailua-Kona, died April 21, 2022 at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born July 22, 1958, in Besao, Philippines, he was a landscaper for Puna Certified Nursery.

Hartwell Aloha Kaeo, 75, of Hilo, died April 30, 2022 at his residence. Born Jan. 21, 1947 on Oahu, he was retired from the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation’s Municipal Golf Course.

He is survived by wife, Judith Kaeo; sons, Rodney (Erica) Gerard, William (Jennifer) Kaeo, and Aaron (Chanelle) Kaeo; brothers, Maximillian (Helen) Kamakani and Danford (Connie) Kaeo; sisters, Theresa Mendiola and Vivian (Robert) Clayton; five grandchilren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donald Stremski
Donald Raymond Stremski, 86, of Hilo, died April 23, 2022. Born Jan. 21, 1936, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, he was retired from Jas. W. Glover, Ltd., worked as a tool-die machinist, a tour driver and a taxi-driver, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

George Josei Gushiken, 92, of Hilo died April 15, 2022, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Waimea, he was a retired supervisor and mechanic for the Hawaii County Fire Department, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hui Okinawa, Retired Firemans Association and HGEA.

Carmen Wright
Carmen Denise Wright, 51, of Keaau, died April 24, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Los Angeles, she was a retired accountant.

She is survived by spouse, Monroe Wright of Louisiana; sisters, Catherine Ford, Evelyn Mosley, Velma Mosley, and Patricia Mosley, all of Los Angeles, and Debra Mosley of Atlanta; brothers, Kenneth Mosley and Cleo Mosley, both of Los Angeles; and nieces and nephews.

Patricia Salmon
Patricia Ann Salmon, 88 of Hilo died May 2, 2022 in Kailua-Kona. Born May 30, 1933, in Houston, Texas, she was a Pan American Airlines flight attendant, a radio and TV personality, started the first western charm school and modeling agency, wrote a regular fashion column in a daily newspaper in Tokyo, owned an antique shop and wrote a book about antiques.
Private services will be held.
She is survived by brother, Bill Salmon, of Texas; niece, Cindy Fong of Hilo and hanai nephew Douglas Akagi of Kailua-Kona.
