Officials Wednesday reported 150 new COVID-19 cases were reported during the past week on Hawaii Island, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency reported in its weekly update Wednesday. Since February 2020, there have been a total of 26,651 coronavirus cases reported on the island.

Statewide, 1,736 new cases were reported during the seven-day period. The average daily number of cases reported was 210. Hawaii Islands’s daily average was 19 and the positivity rate 5.8%.
As of Wednesday, 262 cases on Hawaii Island were considered “active” or having been reported within the past 14 days. Statewide, there were 2,743 “active” cases.
Thirty-six people were reported hospitalized Wednesday, five of them on Hawaii Island.
On Hawaii Island, 185 deaths have been reported as of Wednesday, up one from last week.
Statewide, the fatality count reported since February 2020 reached 1,407.
