Genevieve D’Angelo
Genevieve Ann D’Angelo, 82, of Hilo died March 28, 2022. Born March 5, 1940, she was a retired administrative assistant for Metlife and a member of Little Sisters of the Poor.

She is survived by sons, Joseph D’Angelo, Michael (Colleen) D’Angelo Jr., and Thomas (Brandon) D’Angelo; daughter, Mary (Rick) Serrano; sister, Maryann (Domenick) Casella; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous cousins.

Tomie Shiigi
Tomie Shiigi, 96, of Hilo, died March 7, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 13, 1926, in Hilo, she retired from Hilo Quality Cleaners as a clerk and was a member of the Taishoji Soto Mission in Hilo.

Diana “Dee” Asae Akiyama, 78, of Hilo died April 8, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was the owner of the former Akiyama Store in Keaau, employed at Del Monte Corporation Papaya, Aloha Papaya, Island King of Hawaii, bowled with the Tuesday Night Trio, Wednesday Night Mixed Handicap, Orchid Isle Nisei Bowling Club and loved karaoke singing, fishing and gardening.

Michael “Mykee” Todd Kenichi Inouye, 52, of Hilo, died March 16, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Born Sept. 10, 1969, in Hilo, he was the proprietor of Restaurant Kenichi in Hilo.

Born in Honolulu, he was a circuit designer for GTE Hawaiian Telephone and technician for City and County of Honolulu, Waste Water Management Department, U.S. Army veteran and amateur radio operator with the HAM Radio call sign KH6KL.
