Ninety-two new COVID-19 cases were reported during the past week on Hawaii Island, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency reported in its weekly update Wednesday.
Statewide, 1,187 new cases were reported during the seven-day period. The average daily number of cases reported was 129. Hawaii Islands’s daily average was 12 and the positivity rate 2.5%.
As of Wednesday, 120 cases on Hawaii Island were considered “active” or having been reported within the past 14 days. Statewide, there were 1,587 cases.
Sixteen people were reported hospitalized Wednesday, two of them on Hawaii Island.
Statewide, 1,379 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported since February 2020. On Hawaii Island, 184 deaths had been reported as of Wednesday.
