A 46-year-old Kealakekua man arrested after police reportedly turned up nearly a pound of cocaine during the execution of a narcotics search warrant has been granted supervised release.
Detectives from Hawaii Police Department’s Area II Vice Section on Wednesday arrested Christopher Mundon following the execution of a narcotics search warrant at a residence in Kealakekua, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
During the search, police reportedly recovered 345.9 grams (just shy of one pound) of cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia. The cocaine has a street value of about $50,000. Officers also seized a 2017 Toyota Tundra and more than $1,400.
Mundon was later charged with two counts first-degree promoting a dangerous drug. Bail was set at $100,000 pending an initial court appearance.
On Thursday, Mundon appeared in Kona District Court during which Per Diem Judge Jill Hasegawa granted a defense motion to reduce bail, granting Mundon supervised release.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 14. During that hearing, the state will work to show it has probable cause to support the Class A felony drug charges.
