Two hospitalized following crash near Kiholo Bay, Queen Kaahumanu Highway closed
Two people were sent to the hospital Wednesday evening following a vehicle crash near the Kiholo Bay Scenic Lookout in North Kona.
The head-on crash, reported about 8 p.m. near mile marker 81 on Queen Kaahumanu Highway, involved two vehicles, according to Hawaii Fire Department officials. The Hawaii Police Department reported not long after that the highway was closed in both directions.
The fire department official said shortly before 9 p.m. that two people had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The highway opened around 9:30 p.m.
