The state Department of Health reported 834 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County on Tuesday, another record high for new coronavirus infections, shattering the previous one-day new case record of 720 on Saturday.

The seven-day average of confirmed and probable new cases is 412.
There are 5,170 active cases on the Big Island, another record, with 39 patients hospitalized, five in intensive care units and one on a ventilator.
The statewide new case count is 6,252 confirmed and probable causes, also a single-day record, surpassing the previous record of 5,977 infections on Saturday.
No new virus-related fatalities were reported today so the statewide COVID-19 death toll remains 1,126.

• Old Kona Airport Park in Kailua-Kona, noon-7 p.m., and
• Yano Hall in Captain Cook, 7-8 a.m.
