Nelson Iga

Nelson Shunichi Iga, 82, of Hilo, died Dec. 1, 2021, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born June 24, 1939, in Hilo, he was retired from the former Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Telcom.

Services planned for Jan. 22 have been canceled.

He is survived by children, Aldenn (Rachael) Iga of Honolulu and Alison Iga of Keaau; siblings, Richard (Reiko) Iga of California, Harrison (Rose) Iga of Honolulu, and Doreen Okuda of Hilo; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patrick Enos Jr.

Patrick Gary Enos Jr., 28, of Hilo died Dec. 20, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a tree climber for Pacific Tech Tree Experts.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Jan. 22 at Glad Tidings Church in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by children, Rahmia Costa, Patrick Gary Enos III, Eva Angelina Enos, and Camila Mae Enos, all of Mountain View; parents, Patrick Sr. and Tina Enos of Hilo; hanai mother, Lee Ann Carvalho of Hilo; siblings, Patty (Hollind) Paiva of Puna, Pat Garrett (Sophia Roberts) Enos, Patricia (Kanealii) Aguiar and Laticia Solomon, all of Hilo, and Joycelyn Mattos, Janet Mattos and Justina Mattos, all of Honokaa; hanai siblings, John Carvalho Jr., Elena (Malcolm) Medeiros and Tiffany (Tyrone) Ferreira, all of Hilo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Hatsue Hayashi

Hatsue Hayashi, 89, of Hawi, died Nov. 20, 2021, at her residence. Born in Kohala, she was a homemaker and a member of the St. Augustine Episcopal Church and the Kohala Senior Citizen Club.

Private services held. No koden (monetary donations).

She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Hayashi of Hawi and Sharon (Michael) Medina of Kona; son, Jay (Joey) Hayashi of Kona; sister, Hanako Yamamoto of Keaau; one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene Tadio

Eugene Tadio, 82, of Honokaa, died Dec. 15, 2021, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born in Paauhau, he was a retired irrigation worker with the former Hamakua Sugar Co., member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the first four letter athlete at Honokaa High School, where he also coached football and baseball, and was a member of the Hamakua Softball League.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 22 at Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire; no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Winona Tadio of Honokaa; son, Nolan (Dodie) Tadio of Paauhau; daughters, Robyn (Kathy Kaikuana) Tadio of Honokaa and Karla (Monty) Miranda of Waimea; sister, Carol (Joe) Correia of Hilo; brothers, Richard Tadio of Honokaa, Rudy Tadio and James Tadio of Hilo; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Harada

Mary Tsuyako Harada, 97, of Hilo died Jan. 5, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of the Hilo Meishoin Mission.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers or koden (monetary gifts).

She is survived by sons, Jay Harada, Perry (Rae) Harada and Kenn (Melania Bermudez), all of Hilo; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
