Dr. James Madison has been named chief medical officer at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital.
Madison received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency through the University of Hawaii. He went on to complete a fellowship in nephrology at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine.
Madison is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians.
Madison is currently the chief of staff and hospitalist medical director at the Waimea hospital, and also the executive medical director of MidPacific Hospitalists (Hawaii).
As chief medical officer, Madison will oversee the Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital’s physician group, helping to ensure a robust physician network that provides access to needed services within the community in a timely and cost effective manner. He will also work collaboratively with both employed and community-based physicians to shape the future of health care services in the community, designing and promoting the advancement of continuous quality and safety initiatives.
