Lowe’s has selected Hawaii artist Siena Baldi as the mural artist to represent Hawaii for its Centennial campaign that includes 100 murals across the country.
Baldi painted two 16-foot by 8-foot murals inspired by Kona and Waipahu on Oahu. Both are on display through 2021. The Kona mural was one of only nine murals featured in video format showing behind the scenes.
The artists interpreted the vibrancy of the Lowe’s brand through the lens of the local community. Working with a film crew to document her favorite places along the Kona Coast was extra special. “This mural is my love letter to Kona,” expresses Baldi.
The Kona mural shows Lowe’s at the center of a classic West Hawaii sunset surrounded by Hawaiian beauty spanning the ocean to the cosmos: old lava flows, a kaleidoscope sky, and coral reef representing the heart of the diverse and dazzling Kona community.
Baldi proffers, “together we can safeguard our precious natural resources through thoughtful choices and building compassionate communities.”
Elizabeth Bragg, Lowe’s brand advertising manager who found Siena on Instagram, described Baldi as “super passionate about what she does.”
“The message she wants to portray and the beauty you can find all around you. We are so excited to have her murals representing the Kona and Oahu communities we serve,” she said.
