Mabel Pacheco
Mabel Catherine Pacheco, 90, of Hilo, died Nov. 12, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choice Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born Jan. 6, 1930, in Hilo, she was a PE teacher at St. Joseph Elementary School, front office secretary, security supervisor and custodial supervisor at St. Joseph Schools and Church, played on the Leialoha teams of Keaukaha, the first woman inducted into the Big Island Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. She also decorated St. Joseph Church and the St. Joseph School chapel for Christmas, Easter and other holidays for many many years.
Friends may call for Mass at 9 a.m. Nov. 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Casual attire.
She is survived by sisters-in-law; Irene (Eugene) Pacheco and Jackie (Herman) Pacheco; and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Dominick Tabilang-Reff
Dominick Ikaikaokalani Tabilang-Reff, infant boy, of Hilo, was stillborn Oct. 22, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center.

He is survived by parents, Justin Tabilang and Ericka Tabilang-Reff; grandparents, Erick Reff Jr., Jimmy Tabilang and Gwen (Donald) Olson; great-grandparents, Ann Nathaniel, Jesusa Villasista and Jane Olson; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Alice Mendes
Alice Fernandez Mendes, 97, of Wahiawa, Oahu, died Sept. 18, 2021, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born Feb. 27, 1924, in Kapaau, she retired from The Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu.
Friends may call from 10:45 a.m. to noon Nov. 23 at Valley of the Temples Mortuary – Trousdale Chapel in Kaneohe, Oahu, for a drive-thru service.
She is survived by son, James (Jesyne) Rodrigues of Keaau; daughters, Rose Seifert of Las Vegas, and Florence (Jose) Echevarria of Deltona, Florida; 28 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 84 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
