No injuries were reported following a fire on the exterior of a restaurant and bar Sunday afternoon in Hilo.
Responding to the 1:54 p.m. alarm, Hawaii Fire Department personnel arrived at 64 Keawe St. to find the occupants of the restaurant and bar outside of the three-story building with alarms sounding. An employee directed arriving firefighters to a service entrance where the floor was smoking and appeared charred.
Firefighters removed the floorboards to extinguish the fire.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Damage to the commercial building valued at over $1.7 million was estimated at $200.
