Wendell Leite Sr.
Wendell Ka’ahukane Leite Sr., 93, of Hilo died Oct. 14, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center, Born in Honolii, he was a former vice president at Hilo Transportation and Terminal, a trombonist with the Hawaii County Band for over 70 years, and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Young Men’s Institute (YMI) Francis Council No. 573 and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by sons, Wendell (Susan) Leite Jr. of Naperville, Illinois, and Harvelee (Casimir) Leite-Ah Yo of Hilo; sisters, Ululani (Francis) Lum of Kailua, Oahu, and Patricia Cardus of Seattle; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey Sumi
Jeffrey Tetsuo Sumi, 66, of Hilo, died Oct. 18, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a machine operator for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation.
Private services were held.
He is survived by daughters, Lynn Sumi and Ashley Sumi of Hilo; mother, Kinuyo Sumi of Hilo; sisters, Karen (Harold) Matsuo and Anne (Henry) Miranda of Hilo; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Norma Burnham
Norma Jane Guerpo Burnham, 67, of San Antonio, Texas, died Oct. 5, 2021, at her residence. She was born in 1954 in Honokaa.

She is survived by husband, Wayne Burnham of San Antonio, Texas; children, Dustin (Nicole) Guerpo-Chun of Japan, Sara (Bryce) Uyehara and Chaz (Ruby) Burnham of Texas; step-children, Tabby Souza of Texas and Wayne (Virginia) Burnham, III of Kansas; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Sandy (Ronald) Jyo of Waimea and Jessica (Jimmy) Keala of Arizona; step-brothers, Jeffrey (Roxy) Guerpo and Clinton (Jessica) Guerpo of Honolulu, Felix (Danette) Guerpo of Waikoloa; step-sisters, Rhonda Guerpo of Puna and Cy Cabreros of Honokaa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
