The cause of a Sunday afternoon structure fire in Pahoa is under investigation.
Responding to the 1:52 p.m. report, firefighters arrived at 15-2794 Nuenue Street in Pahoa to find a 625-square-foot carport that was partially burning after flames had engulfed a passenger vehicle inside. Firefighters managed to contain the flames to vehicle and carport, sparing the residential structure.
According to the owner, the vehicle was on fire when he came home. No injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at $20,000.
