Ross Elizares, 62, of Hilo, died June 18, 2021. Born in Hilo, he worked at various hotels in Hawaii and was employed with the state Department of Transportation at Hilo International Airport.

He is survived by sister, Fern Elizares of Waipahu, Oahu; brothers, Jed Elizares of Mesa, Arizona, and Casey Elizares (Laurie Ann) of Keaau; two nieces; a nephew; four grandnephews; and uncles and numerous cousins.

Elena Lopez
Elena “Maria” Corpuz Lopez, 93, of Pahoa, died Sept. 13, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 26, 1928 in Luna, La Union, Philippines, she was a retired nursery worker for Puna Certified Nursery and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Oct. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Oct. 16 for a graveside service at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Casual attire.

Henry John “Roach” Gonsalves Sr., 66, of Pahoa died Sept. 17, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Oregon City, California, he was a mechanic and a member of the Satan Brigade Big Island motorcycle club.
