The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Big Island Affiliate will offer its signature Family-to-Family class, a designated evidenced-based program, open to family members of people with mental health conditions starting Oct. 16.

NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members with loved ones living with mental health conditions. Through presentations, discussions, and interactive exercises, participants gain information and strategies for taking care of the person you love in a supportive and positive group setting. Topics include problem solving, self care, finding services, how to handle a crisis, and much more.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free eight-session educational program for caregivers ages 18 years or older who have a loved one with a mental illness. It will be presented virtually via Zoom from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30; Nov. 6, 13, and 20; and Dec. 4 and 18.

Space is limited to 20 participants who commit to attending a majority of the classes. Advance registration is required.
