Richard Sasaki
Richard Isao Sasaki, 77, of Keei, died Aug. 8, 2021, at his residence. Born April 1, 1944, in Kohala, he was a retired high school teacher, U.S. Army and Hawaii Army National Guard retiree and member of the U.S. Army Reserve, and member of the Keei Kumiai, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Big Island National Guard Retired Association, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), HSTA-retired.
Private services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Grace Sasaki of Keei; sons, Jason Sasaki of Keei, and Justin (Wendi) Sasaki and Jonathan (Candace) Sasaki, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Wendy (Paul) Buchheit of Las Vegas; brother, Guy Sasaki of Kohala; sister, Suzanne Sasaki of Kohala; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon Perreira
Sharon Perreira, 77, of Hilo, died Aug. 30, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired fingerprint technician with the Hawaii Police Department and was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Cremation to follow. Casual attire.
She is survived by husband, Louis Perreira Jr. of Hilo; sons, Roy (Amelia) Hussey of Washington, and Louis (Terriejean Martins) Perreira III and Jay Perreira of Hilo; daughter, Rena (Richard Lewis) Perreira of Hilo; brother, Calvin (Darlene Manuel) Arthur of Oahu; sister, Jorgieanna (John) Amaral of Naalehu; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kanikahekili Cuizon
Kanikahekili “Kahe” Kainoa Mitchell Cuizon, 38, of Pahoa died July 15, 2021, at Pali Momi Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Honolulu, he was a hairstylist.

Paul Monis
Paul Monis, 85, of Honokaa, died Aug. 23, 2021, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Aug. 24, 1935, in Honolulu, he worked as a sandblaster, retiring from West Coast Powder and Coating Co. in San Diego, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, served as former vice-president of the Visayans of Hamakua Club and was belonged to the Senior Softball League, Ka Nani O Honokaa Softball Team, Hamakua Coast Softball Team, Hamakua-Kamuela (HK) Softball Team and “70-Year Old Softball Team” in Las Vegas.
Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial to follow at the Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by companion, Solidad Viernes of Honokaa; son, Paul Shane (Victoria) Monis of Columbus, Indiana; brother, Rafael (Roseline) Monis of Kapolei, Oahu; sister, Roselina Monis of Honolulu; four grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Henrietta Hanson
Henrietta Ululani Hanson, 89, of Hilo, died Aug. 23, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 10, 1932, in Honolulu, she retired as a department store retail sales worker anc was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Keaukaha Ward.

She is survived by husband, William Hanson of Hilo; children, Patricia (Eric) Hubner of Mountain View, and Cynthia Abrahamson, William (Sung-Ju) Hanson, Carlett (Paul) Haney and Isaaca (Caroline) Hanson, all of Hilo; sister, Elaine Akau of Kailua, Oahu; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Joseph “Butchie Boy” Cho Jr., 68, of Hilo, died July 26, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
