Reuben Pa
Reuben “Kimo” James Pa, 80 of Hilo died July 4, 2021, at the Hilo Medical Center’s Extended Care Facility. Born in 1940 in Hilo, he was a retired factory worker for the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug. 25 at Homelani Memorial Park for a service. Flowers and leis are welcomed.
He is survived by brothers, Samuel Pa Jr. of Hilo, Franklin (Barbara) Pa of Pearl City, Oahu, and Jacob Pa of Hilo; sister, Lily Pa of Hilo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Allan Humble
Allan Wesley Humble, 71, of Ocean View, died June 15, 2021, at his residence. Born Oct. 13, 1949 in Toronto, Canada, he was a retired custodian for Cascade Elementary School in Washington, a former auto mechanic and a U.S. Army National Guardsman.

Henry Kahananui Sr.
Henry “Honey Boy” Vernon Kaleimomi Kahananui Sr., 68, of Captain Cook, died Aug. 14, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 14, 1953, in Kalaoa, he was a photographer, spiritual healer, former construction worker and painter.

Jeanette Yamamoto
Jeanette Kameko Yamamoto, 95, of Hawi, died July 9, 2021, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kaapunapuna, Kohala, she was a retired sales clerk and florist with the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, a bookkeeper and member of the Hawi Jodo Mission.

She is survived by son, Myron (Beverly) Yamamoto of Hawi; daughters, Cynthia (Kenneth) Nakagawa of Hilo, June (Patrick) Drumeller of Honolulu and Dawn (William) Shontell of Hawi; brothers, Stanley (Sally) Ito and George (Gayle) Ito of Honolulu; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael Codie
Michael Louis Codie, 69, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 3, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 22, 1952 in London, he was a master cabinet maker and owner of Waikoloa Woodworks.

He is survived by wife, Lauren Codie of Kailua-Kona; son, Karl (Kristy) Alvik of Florida; nephew, Joseph Magaldi of Vietnam.

Ann Snyder
Ann Kuuleinani Snyder, 96, of Waikoloa and also of Honolulu, died July 24, 2021 at her Waikoloa residence. Born Dec. 17, 1924, in Jackson, Michigan, she was a homemaker, a former aircraft maintenance instructor for Honolulu Community College, and a hula dancer.

George Kimura
George Kimura, 77, of Hilo died Aug. 9, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of Geo.Co Electrical Contracting and LKZ Electric and member of the Hilo Missionary Church.

Carole Anne Ishimaru, 75, of Hilo, died Aug. 2, 2021. Born in Hilo, she was a retired teacher and administrator for the state Department of Education and member of the Church of the Holy Apostles.

She is survived by sister, Bobbi (Dennis) Miyashiro; sister-in-law, Coreen Ishimaru; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joseph Kealoha
Joseph “Uncle Joe” Kahaku Kealoha, 66, of Waimea, died June 29, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 15, 1954, in Kaimu, Kalapana, he was a retired police officer for the Hawaii County Police Department; employed at Parker Ranch and Liliuokalani Trust in Kona; an Alihikaua, Ali’i in the 7th degree for the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, Moku O Kohala, and a board member for Kipuka O Ke Ola (K.O.K.O.) and the Waimea Hawaiian Homestead Association.
Friends may call at for visitation from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo; service at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a short service at 11 a.m. Casual attire.

Lisa Newcomb
Lisa Marie Newcomb, 69, of Kurtistown, died July 22, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 13, 1952, in Long Beach, California, she was a former sign painter and seamstress, and member of Life Church in Kona.

She is survived by husband, Scott Newcomb; daughters, Tina Marie Beltran and Julie Newcomb; son, Scott (Margaret) Newcomb; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Monico Cruz Castillo
Monico Cruz Castillo, 92, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 1, 2021, at his residence. Born May 4, 1929, in Bactad, Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a coffee, macadamia nut, avocado farmer and owner of Castillo Orchid and Plumeria Farm, past president of the Filipino Organization of Kona, houseman for the former Kona Hilton Hotel and a landscaper at Pottery Terrace.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 at Kona Memorial Park for a graveside service.
He is survived by daughters, Lydia (Gene) Ota of Keopu, Tellie (Tante) Castillo-Urban of Kailua-Kona, Glenda (Ronnie Wamil) Tabucbuc of Honokaa, and Maria (Peter) Carvalho of Keauhou Mauka; sons, Gloco (Lynn Hamilton) Castillo of Kealakehe, Nookie (Jessievel) Castillo of Kailua-Kona, and Monico (Michael Sutton) Castillo, Jr. of Honolulu; sister, Trinidad Bagalay of Philippines; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
