Modesto Tabuyo
Modesto “Danny” Rosete Tabuyo, 61, of Pahoa, died Aug. 9, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 26, 1960 in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a school bus driver for Roberts Hawaii and a former machine operator for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Aug. 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Aug. 24 for a graveside committal service at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Teresa Tabuyo; daughters, Hazel (Rommel) Garcia, Jennie (Jeffrey) Caban and Sheryl (Brysen Sarmiento) Tabuyo; sister, Elena Tabuyo; brothers, Alfonso (Natividad) Tabuyo, Pancho (Clarita) Tabuyo and Eduardo (Cristeta) Tabuyo Sr.; and seven grandchildren.

Roseline Victorine
Roseline Victorine, 97, of Hilo, died Aug. 10, 2021, at her residence. Born Sept. 17, 1923, in San Jose, Californiam, she was a retired housekeeper for the former Naniloa Surf Hotel in Hilo, member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteer for Hilo Medical Center, The Salvation Army, Senior Centers in Hilo as well as a member of the Senior Center by Edith Kanakaole; because of her volunteering, she received numerous awards for her services. She was a member of the Grandmother’s Club in Hilo and was selected Grandmother of the Year in “2002” and chosen Mother of the Year in “2001”.
Friends may call 9 a.m. Aug. 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Lehua Section).
She is survived by caregiver, Thomas Dela Cruz of Hilo; daughter, Elise (Walter) Yim of Honolulu; sons, Clyde Victorine of Memphis, Tennessee, Rodney Victorine of Fremont, California and Ernest Carvalho of Las Vegas; brother, Lawrence Fernandez Jr. of Maui; sister, Amy Butler of Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Elmer Figueira
Elmer Hugh Gomes Figueira, 69, of Hilo, died Aug. 2, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 10, 1952, in Hilo, he was a retired automoblie and body shop owner and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass. Urn burial at Alae Cemetery (Urn Section).
He is survived by daughters, Doriann (Shannon Kawamoto) Gomes-Figueira, Alicia Gomes-Figueira, Kristin (Ryson) Reis and Cyrstal (Jake Lee) Figueira of Hilo; step-daughters, Pohai Souza of Honokaa and Joanie Gouveia of Kona; step-son, Kawaika Souza of Honokaa; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Mandaloniz of Hilo; brother, Leslie (Shirley) Figueira of Hilo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
