James Leleiwi Jr.
James “Boogie” Keliihoukamoku Leleiwi Jr., 69, of Kailua-Kona, died July 10, 2021, at his residence. Born July 10, 1952, in North Kona, he was a construction foreman and worked for Hawaiian Dredging, Goodfellow Brothers, Kiewit Construction, Dick Pacific Construction and Paul’s Electric Service.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug 28 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona for Mass. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Ugi Leleiwi; sons, James Leleiwi III and Jason (Nohea) Leleiwi, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Hina Kimitete of Los Angeles; brothers, Russell (Sandra) Leleiwi of Ocean View, Morgan (Barbara) Leleiwi of Kailua-Kona, and Clinton (Mary) Leleiwi of Longmont, Colorado; sisters, Charlene Tolentino of Hilo and Lovenna Leleiwi of Kailua-Kona; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three goddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patsy Hamada
Patsy Sueko Hamada, 75, of Captain Cook, died July 31, 2021, at her residence. Born May 7, 1946, in Honokaa, she was a senior accounting clerk for the municipal government and a member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

She is survived by husband, Hale Hamada of Captain Cook, daughters, Shari (Anthony) Bragalone of Holualoa, Teri (Neal) Matsumura of Captain Cook, and Winter (Billy Sookla) Hamada of Kapolei, Oahu; brothers, Ronald (Mary Lyn) Uemura of Hamilton, Montana, and Robert (Joanne) Uemura of Gardena, California; sisters, Amy Koizumi and Carole (Galen) Kuba, all of Hilo; two grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michele Carvalho
Michele Ann Carvalho, 50, of Kailua-Kona, died July 30, 2021, at her residence. Born Aug. 3, 1970 in Kealakekua, she was a secretary for West Hawaii Elecronics.

She is survived by life partner, David Mayers; brother, Martin (Lani) Carvalho Jr. all of Kailua-Kona; maternal grandmother, Leslie Duarte of Holualoa; two grandnephews; a grandniece; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Shirley McClung
Shirley McClung, 90, of Waimea, died July 16, 2021, at her residence. Born Nov. 24, 1930, in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, she was a high school teacher.
