Christine Dixon

Christine Kim Dixon, 45, of Honokaa, died July 29, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 8, 1976, in Seoul, Korea, she was a home health nurse.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by son, Wyatt Mangel of Jacksonville, North Carolina; parents, Willard and Linda Dixon of Keopu; brother, Kyle Dixon of Kalaoa, and sister, Cari (Taylor) Kapuniai of Puukapu; three nephews; and one grandniece.

John Carlstrom

John Raymond Carlstrom, 73, of Kailua-Kona, died July 25, 2021, at his residence. Born Aug. 7, 1947 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, he was a self-employed builder, furniture maker, beekeeper and song writer.

He is survived by life partner, Judie Fekete; former wife, Jennifer Graydon Carlstrom both of Kailua-Kona; mother, Mildred Miller Carlstrom of Honolulu; daughter, Sarah (Cary) Knowlton; granddaughter, Eliyanah Knowlton all of Kailua-Kona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ah Silva

Ah Qu Chong Silva, 96, of Hilo, died July 30, 2021, at a private foster care home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired clerk typist for the Hawaii County Department of Public Works and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ainaola Ward.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 a East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 pavilion for a graveside service. Casual attire. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).

She is survived by son, Dennis Silva of Hilo; sister, Vivian Fukumoto of Hilo; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
