Kona Mauka Rotary and Food Basket run canned food drive

Kona Mauka Rotary will be participating in a canned food drive with The Food Basket from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. They will be accepting canned food and monetary donations at Randy’s Huli Chicken and Ribs in Kealakekua. As this is a drive-through event, donors are asked to stay in their vehicles.

Transportation Toastmasters Club launches youth leadership program

Transportation Toastmasters Club will be coordinating the launch of a Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program (YLP) via Zoom at 3 p.m. Sept. 5. The 90-minute meetings will be held on eight consecutive Sunday afternoons, concluding on Oct. 24.

The club members hope that the YLP will provide high school students with additional opportunities to learn and practice public speaking, presentation, and leadership skills. There is no cost to participate.
