Of the 258 new cases reported by the Department of Health on Saturday, 149 were on Oahu, 41 in Maui County and eight on Kauai. Sixteen cases were among residents diagnosed out of state.
Since the end of last February, 40,383 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
The Big Island had a 6.5% seven-day positivity rate, over the state’s 4.4% positivity rate on Saturday. Over the last 14 days, 302 cases have been reported on the Big Island. Over the past week, the island has reported an average of 27.9 cases per day.
There were 74 individuals statewide hospitalized on Saturday including five on the Big Island.
No new deaths attributed to the virus were reported on Saturday. Of the 527 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 408 were on Oahu, 58 were on Maui, 56 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
Community testing is scheduled Tuesday at Kona Aquatics in Kailua-Kona from 3 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo from 3 to 6 p.m.
