Alice Kawaauhau
Alice Martins Gouveia Kawaauhau, 77, of Naalehu, died June 14, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born March 30, 1944, in Kona, she was homemaker and a member of Big Island Remnant Ministries in Naalehu.
Private services held.
She is survived by spouse, Lot Kawaauhau Sr. of Naalehu; sons, Lot Kawaauhau Jr. of Naalehu and Scotty (Geraldine Kala Latu) Kawaauhau of Hilo; daughters, Cynthia (Wade) Baji, Clover Kawaauhau (Dominic) Gouveia and Alice Gouveia of Naalehu, Christine Kawaauhau and Elizabeth Kaimiola of Kona; brothers, Gary Gouveia, David (Tammy) Gouveia and Johnnie (Rhoda) Medeiros of Kona, Alfred (Marvaleen) Gouveia of Ocean View; sisters, Stella (Eddie) Kuahiwinui of Ocean View, Beatrice Freitas of Mountain View and Loriann Gouveia of Hilo; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Steven Pagaling
Steven Kamakani Pagaling, 73, of Keaau, died May 31, 2021. Born Oct. 19, 1947, in Hilo, he was a handyman and a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Congregation in Hawaii.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. July 12 at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section) for a graveside service.
He is survived by sister, Theresa Pimental; nephew, Alex Pimental of Glendale, California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lorena Shirley
Lorena Mae Shirley, 56, of Pahoa, died June 22, 2021, in Hilo. She was born Sept. 29, 1964, in Hilo.
She is survived by daughters, Kalena (Ty) Lapilio of Kauai and Renesse (Keenan) Shirley of South Carolina; son, Randall Shirley of Mobile, Alabama; step-daughter, Jennifer Shirley of Mobile, Alabama; father, Matthews Ignacio of San Jose, California; brothers, Raymond Ignacio of Pahoa, Matthew Sosa and Teddy Bondaug of Oahu, Michael (Noelani) Sosa of Pahala; sister, Renesse (Mick) Madera of Pahoa; hanai brother, Kalani Ignacio of Germany; and three grandchildren.
