The band will be located in front of Ipu Arts Plus Gallery at the north end of Holualoa playing vintage music from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Aloha Theatre holding auditions for ‘Eddie Would Go’
Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu is holding auditions today and Saturday for the upcoming play “Eddie Would Go.”
on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm each day.
“Eddie Would Go” is a theatrical exploration of a series of events that shaped the life of Eddie Aikau, written by Bryan Wake. The play looks at this surfing hero through the eyes of four local boys. Each knows something of Eddie, whether it be a wildly untrue legend or a true-to-life event. Through telling, playing, arguing, and challenging each other, the four come to a better understanding of Eddie Aikau and what made him a special role model.
There are four roles available for male-identifying actors aged 18-30; each actor will portray several characters. Aloha Theatre welcomes participants of all races and ethnicities, body types, and abilities to audition. Due to the nature of the material, Director Nicole Gour will prioritize casting Native Hawaiians and people of color. Acting experience is not required, newcomers are encouraged to audition. Ability to speak pidgin/Hawaii Creole is beneficial, but is not mandatory. Auditioners must be age 15 or older.
Auditions, which will be held from 6 t0 9 p.m. both days, are walk-in, no appointment is required.

KVA featuring Culbertson
during July
The Kailua Village Artists featured member artist for the month of July is watercolor painter and digital designer Stefanie Culbertson.
Culbertson has been painting with watercolors since she moved to Hawaii in 1989 from Germany. Her fascination with the lush beauty of this island continues to inspire her art and she has grown deep roots here. She earned associate degrees in liberal arts and drama in California, and her bachelor’s degree in digital design. After graduating, Culbertson returned to Hawaii in 2006 and started her own business Tiffany Arts Designs.
Among the new watercolor paintings Culbertson will be featuring is “The Sunset Voyage.” The watercolor features a double hull canoe sailing into the sunset seen from the Kona Inn in Kailua-Kona. This painting is dedicated to the memory of her father, who passed away unexpectantly on March 20 in Frankfurt, Germany. Due to the pandemic lock down in Europe, she was unable to travel to see him at the end of his life and say good bye to her father. The artist channeled her grief painting in this painting dedicated to him.

Chraminski featured by Blue Sea Artisans
The Blue Sea Artisans Gallery will be featuring plein air oil painter Stan Chraminski in July.
Chraminski moved to the Big Island in 2015 and has been painting with the West Hawaii Plein Air painters group ever since. His specialty at the Blue Sea Artisans Gallery are local scenes that show various beaches in North and South Kona. Skies, ocean, beaches, volcanic rock, and palm trees are the main ingredients, often including people out enjoying the local weather.
Chraminski has studied art all his life beginning at Arts High School in Newark, New Jersey, and continuing with art history and studio courses in college. While living in Seattle, he attended numerous courses, workshops, and critique groups to improve his work. He has had work included in many exhibitions, including at Wailoa Center in Hilo annually in plein air and abstract art shows. Chraminski’s work will be discounted 10% the entire month and
