A brown water advisory has been posted for Holualoa Bay following heavy rainfall.
The advisory, prompted by stormwater runoff entering coastal waters, stretches covers the entire bay off Alii Drive known locally as Lyman’s surf spot, according to the Department of Health Clean Water Branch.
The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.
