Audrey Anne Meeks, 93, of Kailua-Kona, died April 17, 2021, at Kona community Hospital. Born June 23, 1927, in Brigham City, UT, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter, Nancy (Warren) Chism of Albany, OR; daughter-in-law, Lifen Baldock of Washington; and granddaughter, April Baldock of California.

Randy Mattos

Randy Mathew Mattos, 68, of Hilo, died April 19, 2021. Born in Hilo, he was a singer, hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by mother, Violet Ketchum of Kurtistown; sons, Troy (Jae) Mattos of Wailuku, Maui, and Joseph Mattos of Hilo; daughters, Carla Mattos of Hilo, Harmony (Jacob) Williamson of Nashville, TN, and Chandler Mattos of Florida; brothers, Dennis (Leilani) Vierra and Dale Mattos, all of Hilo, and Darrell (Rene) Mattos of Keaau; sisters, Pearl (Bobby) Gomez of Bellflower, CA, Linda (Victor) Souza of Kurtistown, Annette O’Brien of Hilo, and Antoinette Toni (Rodney) Castillo of Keaau; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyler-Jay Kuahiwinui

Tyler-Jay “Kaika,” “Kaiks” Ikaika Anuenue O Ka Malia Kai Moses Kuahiwinui, 34, of Keaau, died March 15, 2021. He was a self-employed musician and an automobile mechanic.

He is survived by life partner, Amber Makuakane of Keaau; sons, Keldon Tobias and Aaron Makuakane of Keaau; daughter, Alana Makuakane of Keaau; mother, Bernadine Kuahiwinui of Pahoa; father, Kenneth Kaupu of Pahoa; sisters, Trisha-Marie Kaupu-Kuahiwinui of Maui and Cheyenne Ku’ulei (Josiah) Quihano-Ogo of Pahoa; brother, Edward-John (Shaneece-Mae) Kaupu-Kuahiwinui of Pahoa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David DeBoer

David R. DeBoer, 67, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died March 31, 2021, at his residence. Born Oct. 18, 1953, in Washington, he was a retired field rep specialist for Colorado Springs Utilities.

Private services set for May 29 in Kailua-Kona. Scattering of ashes at sea to follow. The families requests flowers be omitted.

He is survived by wife, Maurine Madriaga-DeBoer, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son, Cole DeBoer, of Los Angeles; and brother, Steve (Laura) DeBoer of Kailua-Kona.

Andrew Carvalho

Andrew “Moke,” “Henry” Avalino Carvalho, 85, of Kapaau, died April 5, 2021, at his Honomakau home. He was born Nov. 10, 1935 in Halaula, North Kohala.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 19 at Halawa Catholic Cemetery for a graveside service. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Wilhelmina TinLoy Carvalho; children, Debbie (Sanford) Nagatori, Sharon (Leo) Carvalho-Kahaloa, Byron (Hualalai) Carvalho, Gwendolyn (Vanessa) Carvalho, Donna (Jason) Gamiao and Andrew K.L. Herbert Patrick Aguiar, 75, of Pahoa, died April 8, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired adult corrections officer with the Hawaii Community Correctional Center and a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.
