Kaiser Permanente partnered Saturday with the Big Island COVID-19 Task Force and the Hawaii County Mayor’s Office to immunize 500 people — mostly Pacific Islanders — at the Kaiser Permanente Kona Medical Office.
Pacific Islander communities have been among the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. This event was a community-based effort where volunteers from the partner organizations helped patients make appointments, arranged transportation, and even provided assistance during vaccination process.
Kaiser Permanente has administered more than 70,000 doses of vaccine in the community thus far.
Eligible Kaiser Permanente members can schedule their vaccination appointment online at www.kp.org. Non-members may also sign up for a vaccination appointment online by going to www.kp.org/covidvaccine.
