Patrick Elisaga
Patrick Michael Elisaga, 57 of Papaaloa, died Feb. 15, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 28, 1963, in Honokaa, he was a steward at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.

He is survived by daughter, Roseann Elisaga of Kailua-Kona; mother, Violet Morales of Papaaloa; brothers, Vicente Morales and Victor (Annie) Morales of Papaaloa; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Florencio Guerpo
Florencio Balboa Guerpo, 83, of Honokaa, died March 18, 2021, at Kohala Hospital. Born Feb. 23, 1938, in Cagayan, Philippines, he worked for the former Hamakua Sugar Plantation as a welder, retired from the Mauna Lani Hotel in Waikoloa, was a retired U.S. Army sergeant, and a member of the Honokaa Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by sons, John (Rowena) Guerpo and Ken Ramil Guerpo of Honokaa; sister, Consolacion (Nemesio) Sanchez of Honokaa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

Sueko Kaneshiro
Sueko Sumida Kaneshiro, 95, of Hilo died March 25, 2021, at a private care home. Born in Pahala, she was a retired salesclerk for the former JC Penney.

Thomas Jerome Engel, 81, of Kailua-Kona, died March 19, 2021, in Kealakekua. Born July 20, 1939, in Los Angeles, he was the owner of Engel Insulation &Firmfill Inc.

Anthony Joseph Eagle, 44, of Hilo, died March 21, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Washington.

Sidney Mercado
Sidney Leroy Mercado, 77, of Waimea and formerly of Honolulu, died March 18, 2021, at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired social worker for the State of Hawaii, member of Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church in Kalihi, Oahu, United Okinawan Association and a U.S. Army veteran.

Vivian Ann Uilani Kaili, 63, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 5, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 18, 1957, in Kealakekua, she was a housekeeper at the Kona Seaside Hotel, an assistant cook at Teru’s Restaurant and Bar, and a member of Work of Life Ministries.
