Janice Percick
Janice Marie Percick, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died March 18, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 13, 1936, in Arcadia, Wisconsin, she was a retired certified nurse’s assistant, a hostess at the former Michael’s Restaurant, worked at Lani’s Flowers in the King Kamehameha Hotel and was a member of Kona Elks Lodge 2616.
Services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by sons, Edward (Grace) Kabus of Captain Cook and Michael (Bonnie Weir) Kabus of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Linda (Steven) Baker of Kentucky and Cathy (Joe) Kulig of Independence, WI; brothers, Franklin (Anne) George of Arcadia, WI, and Leroy (Ruth) George of Taylor, Wisconsin; half-sister, Judy (Jim) Ritter of Trempeleau, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Naoko Ide
Naoko Ide, 93, of Honalo, died March 16, 2021, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Oct. 21, 1927, in Hilo, she was a salesclerk at K. Oshima Store, a seamstress and member of Kawanui Kumiai and Daifukuji Soto Mission.

She is survived by sons, Dennis (Ruth) Ide and Darren Ide, all of Kona; brother, Herbert (Barbara) Sueoka of the mainland; sisters, Thelma Sato and Yukiko Aoki, both of Hilo; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Colby Fish
Colby Nathan Fish, 57, of Kailua-Kona, died March 1, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1963, in New Orleans, he was a commercial fisherman.

Paul Hirokawa
Paul Futoshi Hirokawa, 95, of Kealakekua died March 17, 2021, at the Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Kealakekua, he was a multi-media artist, a retired bartender and gardener at the former Kona Hilton, member of Bank Kumiai and a volunteer for 16 years at Kahaluu Beach Park.
Scattering of his ashes will take place at a later date. The family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
Survived by sisters-in-law, Kay Hirokawa of Honolulu, June Hirokawa of Honolulu; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Hamako Kataoka
Hamako Nishimoto Kataoka, 90, of Pepeekeo, died March 12, 2021, at her residence. Born in Hakalau, she was a homemaker.

Joseph Padillio
Joseph “Papa Joe” Keliikoa Padillio, 63, of Kailua-Kona, died March 11, 2021, at his residence. Born Sept. 9, 1957, in Kona, he was a painter in the engineering department at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort. He was a retired painter for Maryl Development, Grand Illusions Painting Company, Kawika’s Painting and United Painting Company. He was a member of Natural High Softball Club, Kai O Pua Canoe club and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. May 15 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona for a service.
He is survived by companion, Laura Kalima; sons, Cody Kalima-Arruda, Joshua Jordan Kalima-Padillio, Josiah (Jessica) Kalima-Padillio, Jonah (Haili Kailiwai-Ray) Kalima-Padillio, Collin Kalima-Padillio, and Joseph (Brittni Prince) Kalima-Padillio; daughter, Cayla Joelle (Russell Palmeira) Kalima-Padillio; brothers, Pedro (Carol Mano) Hulihee, and Diego (Kahea) Padillio; sisters, Alana (Carl) Yamamoto, and Emmalani Berdon; all of Kailua-Kona; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Markus Herzog
Markus Herzog, 76, of Hilo, died March 21, 2021, at home. He was born in Aarau, Switzerland, and was a civil engineer and land developer.
Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. on April 3 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; memorial service at 10 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Casual attire. No Koden (monetary donations) / No flowers.
