The Hawaii Police Department is investigating the theft of an electronic shopping cart Saturday afternoon from a large retail store in Kailua-Kona.
At 2:43 p.m. an unidentified man was observed walking into the store and using an electronic shopping cart while he shopped. He was observed paying for merchandise and then exiting the store still operating the electronic shopping cart around 4 p.m.
He continued through the store’s parking lot and was last seen traveling west on Henry Street, according to police. The man did not have permission to remove the electronic shopping cart from the property and has since not returned the cart.
