Unable to hold its annual Egg Rush at Old Kona Airport Park because of COVID, Oasis Church held a drive through event Saturday at Kona International Market.
Five hundred pre-registered keiki received a goodie bag that included a bag full of stuffed plastic eggs to take home and have their own egg hunt, toys, gift cards and a cupcake. Additionally each family received a 15 pound bag of rice.
Live music and hula entertained families as they passed through the line, stopping for church members to place the gifts in the back of vehicles.
“The pandemic is not going to stop us from blessing the community and boosting spirits,” said outreach coordinator Sandra Taosaka.
