Statewide, a total of 103 new cases were reported by the Department of Health. Oahu reported 52 of those cases, Maui County 36 and Kauai had no new cases. Five residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
Statewide, to date, there have been 29,511 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. The Big Island on Monday had a 1.5% test positivity rate, under the statewide rate of 1.8%.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 122 cases or an average of 10.4 cases per day. The majority of those cases have been in East Hawaii with the Hilo area reporting 41 cases. The Kailua-Kona area has reported 25 in the past 14 days.
Statewide, 39 people were hospitalized Monday, with one hospitalization on the Big Island. To date, 2,312 people have required hospitalization, including 119 on the Big Island.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported on Monday. Of the 462 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 365 were on Oahu, 40 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and one on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
No deaths have been reported on the Big Island this year.
