The Waimea Arts Council’s Firehouse Gallery’s BIG Art show — a special exhibit of original works by local artists — is on display through March 28.

The show features very large framed original art by Hawaii Island artists, including Ilmar Reinvald, Irina V. Place, Dawn Sager, Janice Gail, and J. Jay West, Terry Bensch, Lorraine Flanders Urbic, and Angie Andreoff.

The artists will be donating up to 50% of their sales to support the council’s community programs. This BIG Art show also includes a donated collection of various well-known international artists including David Schluss, Andrey Sofin, and Chaim Goldberg. All proceeds from the sale of any large donated works of art will go directly to the North Hawaii organization.

Due to COVID-19, gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday. However, the gallery is open additional days if the flags are flying. The gallery is a program of the Waimea Arts Council, located at 67-1201 Mamalahoa Highway, in Waimea, at the main intersection of highways 19 and 190.
