Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 56-year-old man who was last heard from months ago.

Jeffrey Hansel, who was last heard from two to three months ago, was reported as missing on Thursday, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He is known to frequent the downtown Hilo area, though he has no permanent address.
Hansel is described as being heavy set, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with light skin, brown hair and green eyes, according to police.
