Matthew McConaughey has new luxury digs in West Hawaii.
The 51-year-old Texan, whose performance in “Dallas Buyers Club” won him the 2014 Academy Award for Best Actor, paid $7.8 million for the newly built six-bedroom home in the Ka‘upulehu section of the Kukio Beach and Golf Club gated community in Kailua-Kona.
According to PBN, the 5,328-square-foot custom-built home sits on a 1-acre lot and has six bedrooms, including two master suites; 6.5 baths; a media room; glass wine cellar; two-car garage; and a carport for two golf carts.
PBN reports that the house was designed by Kona architect Paul Bleck and built by GM Construction of Kona.
The seller was Esperanza Residence LLC, which bought the lot for $1.65 million in 2018 and put almost $3.8 million into building the home, according to building permits.
McConaughey’s memoir “Greenlights,” published in October, remains at No. 2 on the New York Times’ nonfiction best-seller list, behind former President Barack Obama’s “A Promised Land.”
In July, paparazzi photographed McConaughey and Camila Alves, a Brazilian-American model and McConaughey’s wife of eight years, enjoying a boat ride in an undisclosed Hawaii location.
