John Ramos Jr., 68, of Pahoa, died Nov. 28, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu.

Joray “Joe” “Lani” Kalani Kaua Sr. 54, of Keaau, died Nov. 25, 2020. Born in Hilo, he was a retired carpenter.

Lanwe Lanwe

Lanwe Lanwe, 62, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 22, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Aur Atoll, Marshall Islands on Sept. 16, 1958, he was a maintenance man for Armstrong Building Maintenance and a member of First Bukot Nan Jesus Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lanwe of Kailua-Kona; sons, King (Sonya) Lanwe of Waimea, Joston Lanwe of Kailua-Kona and Jumon (Cherryial) Lanwe of Waimea; daughter, Mine Lanwe of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Samuel (Amelia) Lanwe of the mainland, Ali Lanwe of Marshall Islands; sister, Tokra (Tobi) Milson of Guam; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peter Golitzen

Peter Golitzen, 79, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 29, 2020, at home. Born Nov. 16, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA, he was a retired computer consulting business owner, member of Kona Reefers Dive Club, the HAM radio community and Kona Bridge Club.

He is survived by sister, Cynthia Garn of Maryland; daughter, Cynthia (John) Brixie of California; son, Greg Golitzen (Maria) of California; four grandchildren.

Stanley Zakahi

Stanley “The Colonel” Katsumi Zakahi, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 1, 2020 at home. Born in Honolulu on June 2, 1936, he was a retired electrician; a member of the Holualoa Machi Gumi, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Zakahi of Kailua-Kona; sons, Blayne (Jenny) Zakahi of Mililani, David (Kris) Sasaki of Conifer, CO, Lance (Ayako) Sasaki of Holualoa; daughters, Shari Zakahi of Honolulu, Lorna (Michael) Fuhrer of Waimea, Sherry Sasaki of Holualoa; 12 grandchildren; a great grandson; numerous cousins.

Harumi Kihara

Harumi Kihara, 93, of Hilo, died Dec. 5, 2020, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired account clerk for the former Food Fair Supermarket and member of Taishoji Soto Mission and Kamana Senior Center.

She is survived by daughter, Jane (Loyd Villanueva) Kihara; sisters, Tsuruyo Fukushima, Taeko Yamashita; granddaughters, Lauren and Kristin Villanueva; nieces and nephews.

David York

David Lee York, 66, of Waikoloa, died Dec. 4, 2020 in Waikoloa. Born Oct. 3, 1954, in Honolulu, he was a retired general manager of aviation maintenance for Air Service Inc. of Las Vegas, NV &Aloha Airline of Honolulu, and a professional Polynesian entertainer for Tihati’s, Al Harrington and Tavana Shows.

He is survived by his spouse Su’a Fai’isiotamoni Ah Ching; mother Aigalesala Galea’i Suitonu of Amouli, American Samoa; son Solomon Molia York of Waikoloa; daughters Davienna Clara-Mere (Rocky) Afo of Chicago, IL; Victoria Lucille Laulauga (Don) Manusina of Sandy, UT; siblings Rod Tanu (Misifeleni Lalau) York of Waimanalo; Karl (Cheryl Guernsey) York of Kaaawa; Muluea (Peselau) Gauta of Anaheim, CA; Suka (Faith) Tafisi of Honolulu; Neti (Debbie Bianco) Tafisi of Makakilo; Robert (Loretta Seigafo) Uluga’ono of Amouli, American Samoa; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
