Mayor-elect Mitch Roth announced three more cabinet appointees on Saturday.

Heading up the Planning Department will be former Puna Councilman Zendo Kern, of Kurtistown. Civil Engineer S. Ikaika Rodenhurst of Hawaiian Acres will lead the Department of Public Works, and Ramzi I. Mansour of Honolulu, also a professional engineer, will be the new director of the Department of Environmental Management.

“I am humbled by the experience that these three people bring to our team,” said Roth in a prepared statement. “We are fortunate that they are willing to serve their community.”

Saturday’s announcement of appointees follows Roth on Wednesday stating that Lee Lord, of Volcano, will be managing director and Bobby Command of Captain Cook the deputy managing director. Elizabeth “Betsy” Strance of Kailua-Kona will be the county’s top attorney, Deanna Sako of Keaau the Finance Director, Maurice “Moe” Messina of Mountain View the head of Parks and Recreation, Scott Uehara of Hilo the director of Information Technology and Susan Kunz of Hilo the Housing Administrator.

The name of the director of the Department of Research and Development will be released at a later date.
