Pilar Carlos
Pilar Domingo Carlos, 85, of Pahoa, died Oct. 6, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 19, 1934, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she worked for Tropical Connections, dba Puna Flowers and Foliage and a member of the New Hope in Hilo.

She is survived by spouse, Julio Carlos of Pahoa; son, Robert (Agnes) Carlos of Waimea; daughters, Rose (Alan) Takahata and Rebecca (Gilbert) Javier, all of Las Vegas, Remey (Charles) De Leon of San Jose, California and Ronella (Gregory) Bidad of Pahoa; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Ludivina Domingo and Dionie Schimpke of Philippines, Valeriana Balicoco of Honolulu; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alfredo Cabaccang
Alfredo Cabatu Cabaccang, 85, of Keaau, died Aug. 26, 2020, at his residence. Born July 8, 1935, in Mapisi Nagbukel, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired proprietor papaya farmer and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 27 for Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park.
He is survived by wife, Evangeline Cabaccang of Keaau; son, Rey (Marites) Cabaccang of Paradise Park; daughters, Regina (Jhun) Cabico of Paradise Park and Jerima (Noel) Guerrero of Las Vegas; brothers, Pedro (Leovigilda) of Molokai and Virgilio (Marieta) Cabaccang of Maui; sister, Virgina Cabrera of Modesto, California; 10 grandchildren.

Betty Chow-Hoy
Betty Tran Chow-Hoy, 102, of Hilo died Sept. 7, 2020. Born in Hilo, she was an executive secretary for Bank of Hawaii, member of Hilo United Community Church and board member of the Chinese Cemetery.

She is survived by son, Douglas Chow-Hoy, of Aiea, Oahu; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

John Kaniho Jr.
John Opapa Kaniho Jr., 71, of Hilo, died Sept. 22, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kohala and was a retired custodian with the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Drive-through memorial visitation from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Dodo Mortuary upper porte cochere (carport). Casual attire; no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Janice Kaniho of Hilo; daughter, Kristi (Ricky) Nakamura of Hilo; brothers, Vernon (Rachel) Kaniho and Brent Kaniho, all of Waimea; sister, Lenora Kaniho of Waimea; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kikuo Tsue
Kikuo “Kiku” Tsue, 87, of Hilo, died Oct. 19, 2020, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was the retired owner of the former Office Systems &Equipment Company, member of Kinoole Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

He is survived by wife, Ethel Tsue of Hilo; sons, Steven (SonMi) Tsue of Wailuku, Maui and Darryl (JoAnn) Tsue and Gary Tsue, all of Hilo; daughter, Shelley (Gary) Tom of Hilo; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene Medeiros Miprano, 82, of Hilo, died Oct. 19, 2020, at her residence. Born in September 1939 in Hilo, she was a member of the Immaculate Heart Of Mary Church in Papaikou.
