Henry “Brother” Caravalho Jr., 71, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 8, 2020, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Oct. 8, 1949, in Honokaa, he was a retired assistant manager and former night auditor for Outrigger Hotels of Hawaii and a fisherman.

He is survived by wife, Carla van Vliet of Waikoloa; sisters, Linda (Ken) Fischer and Carol (Craig) Yamaguchi all of Waimea; numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley Fujimori
Stanley Setsuo Fujimori, 79, of Hilo, died July 15, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility. Born Oct. 12, 1940, in Hakalau, he was a retired cook for the Naniloa Hotel and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by brothers, Robert (Doris) Fujimorim of Hilom and Richard Fujimorim of Los Angeles; sisters, Jean (Wallace) Sumidam of Los Angeles, and Pauline (Eduardo) Chaparrom of Florida; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Alva Elliott
Alva Ray Elliott, 85, of Kealakekua, died Oct. 6, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 28, 1934, in Roswell, New Mexico, she was a retired pastor of Kona Gospel Church.

She is survived by sons, James Elliott Jr. of Hookena, Timothy Elliott of Kealakekua, David (Laura) Elliott of Holualoa, and Robert Elliott of Hookena; daughter, Sheryl (Doug) Hauler of Kailua-Kona; sister, Lee Hall of Indiana; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins.

Sandra Glendinning-Legacy
Sandra Jean Glendinning-Legacy, 71, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 4, 2020 in Kailua-Kona. She was born July 1, 1949, in California. Sandra worked as a home maker.
She is survived by sons Iain Glendinning of Goleta, California; Neil Glendinning of Goleta, California; brother Johnny (Cindy) Johnson of Tustin, California; sisters Wendi Street of Lake Forest, California; and Judi Pusey of London, England.

Derek G. Alatan, 65, of Keaau, died Aug. 13, 2020, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he worked at Aloha Papaya, Hilo Coast Processing Co., and Homelani Memorial Park and was a member of Sure Foundation Church in Puna.

Darryn Haruto Yamamoto, 67, of Hilo, died Oct. 7, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was retired from Hawaii County Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance Division, also worked for HPM Building Supply and member of United Public Workers Retirees.

Louis “Fred” Deetman, 88, of Hilo, died Oct. 13, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in The Hague, Holland, the Netherlands, he was a retired self-employed accountant and tax preparer, Elder and member of the Berean Bible Church, served in the Royal Netherlands Army and was a member of The Salvation Army advisory board.
He is survived by wife, Helena Deetman of Hilo; a nephews in Hilo and California; many other family and relatives in Holland.
