Conrad Roland
Conrad Roland, 86, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 25, 2020, at his residence. Born Aug. 18, 1934, in Munich, Germany, he was an architect and member of the Holualoa Foundation for Arts and Culture, Kona Arts Center and the American Institute of Architects.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by sister, Monika Aly of Berlin, Germany; brother, Klaus Lehmann of Germany; four nephews; several nieces; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

Susumu Nakagawa
Susumu “Sus” Nakagawa, 98, died Sept. 22, 2020, in the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he served in the U.S. Army’s 100th Infantry Battalion of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, was an entomologist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, former owner of the Seaside Restaurant and Aquafarm in Hilo and member of the 442nd Veterans Club and the Hilo Meishoin Buddhist Temple.

He is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Wilbert Low) Nakagawa, of Hilo, and Linda (Mark) Laughlin, of Portland, Oregon; sons, Colin (Sharon Beauchan) Nakagawa, of Hilo, and Kris (Janna) Nakagawa, of Honolulu; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Elsie Anderson
Elsie Ann Anderson, 83 of Pahoa, died Sept. 28, 2020, at her residence. Born in Paauilo Hawaii, she was a homemaker.

Arthur Silva
Arthur Earl Silva, 74, of Honokaa, died Oct. 6, 2020, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1945, in Haina, he was a retired engineering department supervisor at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

He is survived by wife, Lydia Silva of Honokaa; sons, Joel (Sharon) Ragsac of Honokaa, Randy (Cheryl) Ragsac of Philippines and Jose (Walailak Phangphuth) Ragsac of Waikoloa; daughters, Joe-na lee (Chris) Corpus, of Hilo, and Joan Ragsac of Honokaa; sisters, Elsie DeMattos of Paauilo and Inez (Gerald) Jackson of Georgetown, California; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
