A 44-year-old man is facing first-degree sexual assault and drug offenses stemming from an anonymous report of a sex assault involving a minor that occurred earlier this year.
The Hawaii Police Department’s Kona Juvenile Aid Section opened the investigation into the anonymous report on Aug. 26. Through the course of the investigation, police said detectives determined that Waynerichard Ho had sexually assaulted a minor.
Detectives executed a search warrant on Tuesday at the Ho’s residence, during which officers reportedly recovered 7.6 grams of dried marijuana and 7.6 grams of a marijuana concentrate.
Ho was arrested later that day after he turned himself in.
Ho was charged Wednesday with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree promotion of a harmful drug, and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, according to police. Bail was set at $15,250.
Ho is slated to make his initial court appearance Oct. 22 after posting bail.
