Helen Shigeko Uratani, 68, of Hakalau, died Aug. 15, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 13, 1952, in Hilo, she was retired from Life Care Center of Hilo and a member of Kinoole Baptist Church.

She is survived by siblings, Margaret Fournier of Alaska, Ronald (Sharon) Uratani of Pepeekeo, Ella Uratani of Hakalau; niece, Leatrice Kitamura of Waimea; another niece and a nephew.

Georgia Wong
Georgia Oliveira Wong, 74, of Hilo died Aug. 15 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired customer service representative for Verizon Wireless, employed at the former Wang Laboratories and a member of Thy Word Ministries.

She is survived by daughters, Janelle (Branden) Pascual of Hilo, Sarah (Michael) Laufili of Honolulu, Brandi (George) Kamakea of Mountain View; son, Joseph Wong of Waipahu; brothers, Peter (Leilani) Oliveira of Hakalau, James (Billie) Oliveira of Pearl City, Frank Oliveira of New Jersey, Skip Oliveira of Volcano; sister, Pegge (Hoku) Keawe of Mountain View; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

John FitzGerald II
John Charlton FitzGerald II, 78, of Hakalau died Aug. 28, 2020, at his residence. Born in Honolulu, he served in the U.S. Army, worked in the Hawaii sugar industry, was a manager for Pacific Machinery on Maui, Roper &Rancher, co-founder of Hawaii Carriage Driving Society, past president of the Maui Rotary Club and current member of the Rotary Club of South Hilo, America Cowboy Team Roping Association, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a Bronze Star recipient.
Friends May call at noon Aug. 31 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for a graveside service. Additional services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Karen FitzGerald of Hakalau; sons, Michael (Leslie) FitzGerald of California, Kimo (Megan) Mant of Kurtistown; grandson, Max Mant of Kurtistown; sisters, Polly Dye of Oregon, Diane Korsten of California; numerous nieces and nephews.

Carrie Ann Dayanan, 50, of Keaau, died Aug. 23, 2020, at home. Born in Honolulu, she worked for Full Life Care as a direct support worker.

Claire O’Callaghan
Claire C. O’Callaghan, 31, died Aug. 20, 2020. Born Aug. 15, 1989, in Kealakekua, she served in the United States Marine Corps.
She is survived by mother, Janet (Frank) O’Callaghan; sister, Kelly O’Callaghan of Oregon; brothers, Shaun O’Callaghan,Patrick O’Callaghan, Matthew O’Callaghan, and Kevin O’Callaghan; grandmother, Satsuko Matsuoka; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Richard Darling
Richard “Dick” Shelley Darling, 86, of Keaau, died Aug. 19, 2020 at home. Born Nov. 30, 1933 in Binghamton, N.Y., He was a retired electronics technician for IBM, a U.S. Army veteran, a ham radio operator, recipient of the 2016 International Humanitarian Award and member of the Hilo United Methodist Church.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Darling of Keaau; daughter, Barbara (Steve) Naslund of Salinas, CA; son, Richard (Ria) Darling of Stafford, VA; step-daughter, Judith Delbene of Lake City, FL; step-sons, Michael Robbins of Dennison, Texas and David Robbins of Peru, MA; brother, Kenneth Darling of Minnesota; one grandson; hanai family; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marc Bartlett
Marc Hadzor Bartlett, 71, of Kurtistown, died June 30, 2020 in Hilo. Born Oct. 23, 1948 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was a Navy veteran, employed at Inter-Island Resorts, worked for two veterinarians, and was a self-employed roofer and landscaper.

He is survived by sister, Claudia Bartlett of Kauai; half-sisters, JoAnn (Joe) Hyde of Green Valley, AZ and Christine (Bob) Bittner of Albuquerque, NM; numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel Fujimoto
Hazel Sayoko Fujimoto, 91, of Hilo, died Aug. 8, 2020, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Papaikou, she was a clerk/stenographer with the State of Hawaii vocational rehabilitation, a member of the Hilo Meishion Mission Kyodan and Fujinkai and a Urenseke Tea Ceremony participant.
Private services held. Donations in her memory may be made to Hilo Meishoin Mission.
She is survived by sons, Kyle (Hyon-Cha) Fujimoto of Hilo and Terrance (Darlyne) Fujimoto of Maui; sister, Masue Ando of Hilo; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
