Man killed in single-car crash in HOVE

A 62-year-old Naalehu man died following a single vehicle collision on Thursday morning near the intersection of Aloha Boulevard and Highway 11 in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.

The Hawaii Police Department identified the victim as Kevin Ceasar.

Responding to an 8:55 a.m. call, police determined that a Black 2000 Dodge Durango SUV heading west had driven off of the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a rock embankment. The driver and sole occupant of the vechicle was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 2:34 p.m.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

This is the 13th traffic fatality this year compared to 13 at this time last year.
