Nobuichi Imade, 89, of Hilo, died Aug. 16, 2020 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Kurtistown in 1931, he was a mechanic for United Airlines in California and in Las Vegas.

Arlene Bice
Arlene Jane Bice, 85, of Kurtistown, died Aug. 13, 2020 in Keaau. Born Aug. 17, 1934 in Buffalo, New York, she was retired from Bank of Hawaii and was a member of Puna Covenant Church.

She is survived by, daughters, Diane Akamine of Las Vegas and Wendy (Edward) Sugai of Kurtistown; step-daughters, Anita Bice of Ainaloa, Marleen Cole of Bascom, Florida and Karen Beeler of Malone, Florida; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maybelle Okinishi
Maybelle Okinishi, 76, of Pahala, died Aug. 11, 2020, at her residence. Born on Dec. 30, 1943, in Pahala, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by son, Royden Okinishi of Pahala; daughter, Joy (Richard March) Okinishi of Pahala; brothers, George Quintal Jr. of Ainaloa, Richard (Rachel) Johansen and John Quintal of Naalehu; sisters, Angeline (Gilbert) Cardines of Hilo, Liz Quintal of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Pansy Quintal and Rose Quintal of Eden Rock, Linda Quintal of Pahala and Pearl Quintal of Ainaloa; three granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael Umeno
Michael Hideo Umeno, 71, of Kona, died on June 27, 2020, in Holualoa. Born on Oahu, he was the owner of Umeno Auto Repair, former employee at Kona Village Resort, and a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by wife, Judy Umeno of Kona; son, David (Koua) Umeno of Okinawa, Japan; brother, Glenn (Shirlie) Umeno, of Oahu; sister, Janis (Dennis) Hoe, of Oahu; two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
