DOBOR office announces schedule change

The Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation Hawaii Island District Office and the adjacent Honokohau Harbor office will be closed to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting Sept. 1.

Both offices will be open regular hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, the DLNR said Thursday.

Customers can still mail in any payments, gross receipt forms and permit renewal documents or use the locked, drop-box near the harbor office’s front doors. All submissions will be processed daily.

NASA scientist to discuss Artems program

Learn about lunar science and NASA’s Artemis program to return astronauts to the moon by 2024 during a Facebook Live presentation Wednesday.

Jacob Bleacher, chief exploration scientist in NASA’s Advanced Exploration Systems, will conduct a free one-hour Facebook Live event starting at 10 a.m. The Hawaii State Public Libarray System event is suitable for ages 5 and older.
