Jonathan Hara
Jonathan Ed Hisaichi Hara, 34, of Hilo, died July 18, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 24, 1986, in Hilo, he was a fire medical specialist with the Hawaii Fire Department, an Eagle Scout, Judo black belt holder, and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hawaii Fire Fighter’s Association, East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai and Hui Okinawa.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 29 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Private memorial service to follow. Casual attire. He is survived by companion, Emilee Kojiro of Hilo; parents, Edwin and Portia Hara of Hilo; maternal grandmother, Marcia Shimabukuro of Honolulu and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Waylon Valeros
Waylon Jon Valeros, 41, of Keaau, died July 30, 2020 at home. Born in Hilo, he worked for companies, including RTs Plumbing Services, Sun Run Solar Company and Mountain Meadows Company as an auto body painter and welder.

He is survived by mother, Juanita Valeros of Keaau; brothers, Malcolm (Shelly) Valeros Sr. of Texas and Donovan (Maylene) Valeros Sr. of Keaau; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret Tan
Margaret “Maggie” Ann Tan, 76, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 7, 2020 at Sofina’s Care Home. Born Oct. 25, 1943, in Shreveport, LA, she was an elementary school teacher at Konawaena and Kealakehe schools, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by daughter, Erin Tan of Sapporo, Japan; sons, Robert (Hege) Tan of Tampa Bay, FL., and James (Tatiana) Tan of Kailua-Kona; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kiyoko Sako
Kiyoko Sako, 91, of Pahoa, died Aug. 7, 2020 at home. Born July 16, 1929, in Ola’a, she was a retired owner for the former Sako Store and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission, Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, Kurtistown Jodo Mission and Fujinkai.
Private services were held.
She is survived by son, Kevin (Chris) Sako of Pahoa; brother, Eddie (Eileen) Suzuki of California; sisters, Yooko Suzuki of Keaau, Mieko Hashimoto of Honolulu, Sumi (Hiroshi) Nishikawa of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel Kiaha
Manuel “Manny” Leialoha Kiaha, 74, of Kealakekua, died Aug. 6, 2020 at Kaiser Medical Center. Born April 16, 1946, in Honolulu, he was a real estate agent, an auditor at the former Kona Lagoon and the former Hyatt Regency at Hualalai, a head coach for Konawaena High School in the 80s, founder of Kona Kats girls basketball club, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Puukapu Baseball team, Mauka Rotary Club and a U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Mary Kiaha of Kealakekua; daughters, Desiree Dochin of Kealakekua, Tenille (Logan) Kiaha-Maumau of Herriman, UT, Lezlie Ann Kiaha and Mandy Kiaha of Honolulu; brother, Rupert (Alma) Kiaha of Keauhou; sister, Janie Wong of Hawi; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary Nakagawa
Mary Mitsue Nakagawa, 72, of Holualoa, died July 28, 2020 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Sept. 15, 1947, in Honolulu, she worked at State Farm, Walmart and Hualalai Garage and was a member of Kona Hongwanji Mission, Daifukuji Fujinkai Women’s Association and Kaumalumalu Kumiai.
Private services will be held.
She is survived by husband, Jimmy Nakagawa of Holualoa; sons, Wade Nakagawa of Honolulu, Robert-Alan Nakagawa and Guy-Michael Nakagawa of Holualoa; brother, Lory Segawa of Las Vegas; sisters, Lynn (Elton) Kamiya and Dale Stricker of Honolulu; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
