A concert featuring Blayne Asing will be held Sunday at the Mauna Lai, Auberge Resorts Collection, benefiting the Waimea-based Kahilu Theatre.
Born and raised on Oahu and now a resident of Waimea, Asing, a self-taught singer/songwriter, picked up the ukulele and guitar when he was 8 years old. In addition to playing a variety of instruments, Asing is a prolific songwriter with a distinctive voice complimented with an engaging entertainment style. He has risen to the top of Hawaiian music charts and was awarded the 2016 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for most promising artist.
Hawaiian and country/folk influence his original compositions. His song “Molokai On My Mind” is popular on radio stations across the state and beyond.
The concert is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the lawn and terrace of the CanoeHouse at the South Kohala resort.
Attendees can opt for lawn seating or a dinner package for each of the shows. Lawn seating is limited because chairs will be socially distanced and reservations are required. Pricing is for the performance only.
The dinner package will feature a tasting menu crafted by Chef Matt Raso of CanoeHouse.
Lawn seating is $100 and the dining package is $225. There is a minimum booking of two persons with a maximum of eight.
Kahilu Theatre remains closed to the public since shuttering March 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
