Mauna Loa Helicopters is holding its first-ever free summer camp.
Four lucky students are participating in a two-week course to learn about the basics of helicopter flying as part of Mauna Loa Helicopters’s first-ever free summer camp.
The summer camp began on Monday and the students will be participating in hands-on science experiments, bookwork, flying a simulator, hands-on learning at Mauna Loa Helicopters’s hanger in the maintenance department more.
The company said it wanted to provide an opportunity for young minds to learn about aviation and “hopefully fall in love with it as much as we do.”
“We wanted to give back to a few families during this hard time when students are home not enjoying their summer. The staff and faculty are looking forward to hosting more camps in the future to encourage aviation as a career in the future,” a press release reads.
The company plans to hold summer camp again next year and will provide updates on its website at www.maunaloahelicopters.edu and on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
